Fill Media for All Ball Vapes
These kits are meant for swapping out your existing media in your ball vape heads for another size, or material. We have listings for almost every major ball vape head being used currently by enthusiasts and if we don’t have yours listed, reach out and we can create a custom option for you!
Why would you want to make this change?
If you’re someone who prefers more open airflow, or maybe a bit more flavor, these conversion kits will allow you to customize the extraction in your ball vape.
Try 2.0mm for a similar airflow as the gem cuts, but a smoother and more noticeable flavor profile.
Want a faster extraction with wide open airflow? Try the 3.0mm balls.
How about something in between the two? 2.5mm balls are a great middle ground and often highly suggested!
This is a true create your own experience and we think you’ll find it worth trying out the different combinations! You can even mix ball sizes and different media, but we highly recommend caution when doing this. Overpacking or using materials that expand differently could cause breakage, but if you’re confident have fun trying it out!
What’s included:
Complete Fill for Your Choice of Ball Vape Heater (including some extra for spillage).
2 screens for retaining balls in heating chamber. 2.5mm. May not be required but for the 2.0mm option it is advised to prevent blockage in the air holes or screens. Mesh screens won’t have this issue, but some machined screens might.

These come direct from the manufacturer and are not pretreated in any way. You’ll want to make sure to do a burn-off around 600-700f for 15min and then bring the temps back down to your desired vaping temperature.

Material Choices
Ruby Corundum
Ruby corundum is the industry standard for a reason it’s a time-tested, thermally stable material that delivers balanced performance across flavor, heat retention, and vapor production. With a high thermal conductivity, ruby balls offer a responsive heat transfer without overwhelming the airflow or burning terpenes. Their inert, non-reactive surface preserves flavor, while their moderate mass and size options give you full control over your thermal characteristics. If you’re dialing in low-temp sips or chasing thick clouds, ruby balls are the goldilocks solution for most users. Not too fast, not too slow.
ZrO2 (Zirc)
Zirconia ceramic balls are the slow burners in your ball vape arsenal. With a very low thermal conductivity, ZrO₂ doesn’t dump heat quickly. Instead, it acts as a thermal buffer that holds onto heat longer and releases it more gradually. This makes them ideal for low-temp, high-flavor sessions where heat stability is key. They’re also denser than ruby, offering more thermal mass per ball, which can compensate for their slower response in some cases. If you want smoother vapor with lower risk of combustion and a more forgiving experience for beginners, zirconia balls offer a unique advantage.
Stainless Steel (316)
316 stainless steel balls provide a durable and affordable thermal medium that’s best used in moderate-temperature setups. With a thermal conductivity lower than ruby but higher than zirconia, they provide slower ramp-up but reasonable vapor output. They excel in rigs where heat retention is more critical than burst performance. However, they are more susceptible to heat tinting and flavor degradation if pushed too hard or not properly maintained. Ideal for casual users or those experimenting with hybrid setups, stainless steel offers cost-effective functionality with trade-offs in speed and purity. Also, offers significantly more mass per ball than ruby and more than zirconia. Using these in smaller thermal mass baller heads can be effective for vapor chasers.
Gem Cut Ruby Corundum
Gem-cut ruby corundum takes everything great about standard ruby balls and changes the shape. These multi-faceted shapes increase surface area and disrupt airflow, leading to enhanced turbulence and using less media per ball vape head. This results in a fast heat dump, but usually at the cost of a bit of flavor. Especially useful for lower airflow setups or advanced users who want more character in each hit. While they may not heat or cool as evenly as spherical balls, the gem cuts create micro-pockets of thermal variance that can change the vaping experience when used intentionally. It’s a targeted choice for enthusiast forward customization.
Sizing Guide: 2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm Ball Options
The size of your thermal media can drastically change how your vape performs. Smaller 2mm balls create tighter airflow resistance, more surface contact, and faster heat exchange. Perfect for restrictive extraction and great flavor. Mid-sized 2.5mm balls strike a balance between airflow and heat mass, making them ideal for general-purpose use. Larger 3mm balls allow for smoother airflow with slightly slower heat response, offering a cooler draw with less resistance. Mixing ball sizes can also create hybrid effects, allowing you to customize turbulence, vapor density, and temperature control to match your session style. Like anything, experiences can vary widely. We highly recommend asking others for their favorite size and material.
