What’s in the Box
6 Heat Settings
The Lunar Lander uses color-coded heat settings. Start on Purple or Yellow if you are new to dabbing or chasing flavor. Blue through White covers the daily driver range for most users. Red is maximum production. We recommend hot starts for the best experience overall.
| Setting | Temp at 16s (°F) | Temp at 45-60s (°F) | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Purple | 380-410°F | 420-440°F | Flavor chasers, new dabbers. Low vapor volume. |
| Yellow | 390-425°F | 440-460°F | Flavor focus. Still light on clouds. |
| Blue | 410-450°F | 500°F | Balanced flavor and vapor. Good everyday setting. Popular |
| Green | 430-475°F | 510°F | More vapor, still great flavor. Recommended for most. Popular |
| White | 475-530°F | 540°F | High production. For experienced users or larger loads. |
| Red | 490-550°F | 580°F | Maximum vapor. Best for shared sessions or finishing material. |
Fill the Grenade bubbler to approximately halfway up the chamber. Too little water reduces filtration and cooling. Too much risks flooding the base and damaging the unit. Never fill past the airflow slits inside the bubbler.
How to Get Started
First session only takes a few minutes. Follow these steps in order before loading any concentrate.
Cold Start vs. Hot Start
If material remains after a session ends, fire again immediately with a double-click. The second session starts hotter since the heater retains heat. You do not need to wait for the vibrate signal before inhaling on the second run.
Built to Last
Most e-rigs make you replace the entire atomizer when the heater fails. The Lunar Lander uses a rebuildable design. When the ceramic element wears out, you swap only the heating element. Not the housing. This keeps long-term running costs low and means a worn heater never sidelines your device.
Maintenance Guide
Consistent maintenance is the difference between a device that performs for years and one that degrades in months. These habits take 60 seconds and extend the life of your heater significantly.
Never angle the device during a session with concentrate loaded. The cup is open at the top. Tipping the device will spill concentrate into the base and potentially damage internal components. Keep it vertical during all active sessions.
Use a dry cotton swab immediately after each session while the heater is still warm. Wipe the cup clean of any reclaim oil. Skipping this step leads to carbonized buildup on the ceramic surface, which reduces flavor, restricts airflow, and shortens heater life. While you are at it, wipe the inside of the carb cap and the bubbler neck. Warm reclaim is much easier to remove than cold hardened residue.
Tip: Keep a small jar of q-tips and ISO pads next to your setup so swabbing is automatic, not an afterthought.
Replace the water in your Grenade bubbler every day you use the device, or between every session if you are a heavy user. Stale water picks up reclaim, particulate, and odor quickly in a concentrate rig. Fresh water keeps vapor cooler, cleaner, and better tasting. Fill to approximately halfway. Never past the airflow slits.
Tip: If you notice a harsh or stale taste mid-session, the water is usually the first thing to check before assuming heater issues.
Remove the Grenade bubbler and rinse it with 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol. Shake with a small amount of ISO and coarse salt if reclaim has built up on the inner walls. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and allow to dry completely before reattaching. Do not reattach while wet.
Tip: Cleaning the glass weekly takes under 5 minutes and makes a noticeable difference in vapor quality compared to monthly cleaning.
Once a month, remove the atomizer and inspect the base of the housing and the connection threads. Use an ISO-soaked q-tip to clean any reclaim from around the atomizer base, the threading, and the top of the device where the bubbler connects. Wipe out the vapor pathway inside the base with a dry q-tip first, then a lightly ISO-dampened one. Allow everything to dry fully before reassembly. Check that atomizer screws are still firmly seated.
Tip: If you notice the device heating unevenly or taking longer to reach temp, check the atomizer screws first. Loose screws are the most common cause of heater performance issues.
Signs the ceramic heater needs replacing include inconsistent vapor at temps that previously worked well, visible darkening or cracking of the ceramic surface, a persistently burnt taste that does not clear after a thorough swab, or visibly loose heating elements. Replacement heaters are available in our store and install in minutes with the included screwdriver.

Lunar Lander FAQ
The questions we get most before and after the sale, answered straight.
Is the Lunar Lander the same thing as the Crossing Technology Core XL?
Yes. The Lunar Lander is the same hardware as the Core XL by Crossing Technology — the same base unit, same XL 3D ceramic heater, same Grenade glass bubbler, same rebuildable atomizer design. The Lunar Lander name is specific to The Dab Hut. The difference is in the heat settings: we configured the 6 presets in-house based on real use, not just factory defaults. If you see either name in community discussions or comparison threads, they’re talking about the same device. If you have questions about the heat settings specifically, reach out. We tuned them ourselves and can walk you through the reasoning.
What heat setting should a beginner start on?
Start on Blue. It sits in the balanced zone — enough vapor to know your dab is working, enough temperature control that you won’t scorch your material or find the hit overwhelming. Load a rice-grain amount, use a hot start, and wait for the vibrate before you begin your inhale. Once you have a session or two under your belt and you know how the device behaves, step up to Green. That’s where most daily users land for the best mix of flavor and vapor production. Purple and Yellow are excellent if you’re running premium solventless and want maximum terpene preservation. Save White and Red until you’re comfortable with the device and want heavier production.
Hot start vs cold start — which is actually better on the Lunar Lander?
Hot start for most people, most of the time. Fire the device first, wait for the vibrate, load your dab into the preheated cup, cap it, and inhale. You get more consistent vapor production, better extraction per session, and a more reliable experience across the board. Cold start has its place: if you’re chasing maximum flavor at lower temps and willing to trade some extraction efficiency for terpene preservation, loading a cool cup and inhaling early before the vibrate delivers a noticeably cleaner, more aromatic hit — especially for live rosin or fresh-pressed hash rosin. The flavor difference is real, but so is the reduction in vapor volume. For first-time users, hot start is the right call. Cold start is a technique to explore once you already know how your device performs.
How long does the battery last and how many sessions do I get per charge?
Approximately 21 full sessions per charge at mixed settings, based on the 3150mAh battery and 80-second session length. Higher heat settings draw more power per cycle, so if you run exclusively on Red or White, session count drops. If you primarily run Blue or Green, you’ll land closer to the upper end of that range. Charge time from empty is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes via USB-C fast charging. The green indicator light signals a full charge. Do not run the device while charging — the Lunar Lander does not support pass-through charging, so plug in, let it fill, and unplug before your next session.
How do I know when the ceramic heater needs to be replaced, and how hard is it?
Watch for these signs: vapor production drops at settings that used to work well, the ceramic surface is visibly dark or cracked, you’re tasting burnt flavor that doesn’t clear after a thorough swab, or you notice the heater warming unevenly. Before assuming the heater is done, check the atomizer screws first with the included screwdriver. Loose screws are the most common cause of performance degradation and take 30 seconds to fix. If the screws are tight and performance is still off, the ceramic element needs to go. Replacement is straightforward: same screwdriver, a few minutes, and you’re back. We stock replacement heaters in the store. The rebuildable design means you’re only swapping the element, not the entire atomizer housing — which is a significant cost savings over devices that require full atomizer replacement.
What types of concentrate work best in the Lunar Lander?
The XL ceramic cup handles the full range well. Shatter, wax, crumble, and sugar wax are the most straightforward — stable and easy to load, consistent results on Blue through Green. Live resin and live rosin benefit from lower settings (Purple or Yellow) and cold-start technique to protect the terpene profile. Sauce and high-terpene liquid concentrates can run but require careful loading to avoid overflow — use a small amount and err on the side of less. Hash rosin and ice wax work particularly well on hot-start Purple or Yellow, where the lower temp manages the melt without burning off the flavor. Avoid loading materials with excessive plant matter or heavy particulate — it builds up on the ceramic faster and requires more frequent cleaning.
How do I get the best airflow from the Grenade bubbler and carb cap?
Water level is the biggest variable most people get wrong. Fill the Grenade bubbler to approximately halfway up the chamber — never past the airflow slits inside. Too little water and you lose filtration and cooling. Too much and you risk flooding the base connection, which can damage the unit. For the spinner carb cap: place it over the cup after your concentrate has melted and started producing vapor, not the instant you load. Letting the cap sit on a dry cup for the first few seconds of a hot-start session restricts airflow before it’s needed. The tethered design keeps the cap accessible so there’s no reason to rush it on. If draw resistance feels too tight, check whether the bubbler is seated fully and the vapor pathway is aligned correctly — a partially seated bubbler restricts airflow at the base.
How does the Lunar Lander compare to the Dr. Dabber Ghost 2 or Switch 2?
Different devices at different price points and with different strengths. The Lunar Lander uses a resistive ceramic heater — a proven, durable system that delivers consistent results at a lower cost of entry than induction-based eRigs. The Switch² uses induction heating, which heats the insert from the outside in with no element touching your concentrate. Induction tends to produce slightly cleaner flavor and more even heat distribution, but those devices carry a higher price tag. The Switch² also has a patented IR temperature sensor for real-time insert temp verification, which the Lunar Lander doesn’t match. The Ghost² is similar in heating to the purple and yellow settings on the Lunar Lander in their flavor forward focus. Where the Lunar Lander wins: lower entry cost, rebuildable heater design that keeps running costs down, proven reliability from Crossing Technology, and the Grenade glass bubbler delivering better filtration than most portables at this price. It’s the right device for someone who wants a serious e-rig experience without the flagship spend. We carry all three. If you’re on the fence, reach out and we’ll help you match to your actual use case.
My Lunar Lander isn’t producing vapor or the hit feels thin. What should I check?
Work through these in order. First: tighten the atomizer screws with the included screwdriver. Loose screws are the single most common cause of weak vapor and are easy to miss. Second: check whether the ceramic cup needs cleaning. Carbonized buildup from skipped swabs insulates the surface and reduces heat transfer significantly — a thorough swab with warm ISO usually recovers performance. Third: check your water level. Too much water creates resistance and cools the vapor before it reaches you, making hits feel thin even when the heater is working correctly. Fourth: step up one heat setting. If you’ve been running on the same setting for a while without cleaning, bumping one step compensates for minor heater wear. If none of these fix it, the ceramic element may need replacement. We stock them and can walk you through the install.

Awesome device. I prefer the blue and green settings with the straight cap. Smooth and flavorful smoke. For an E-Rig this device hits and smokes with the top devices in the industry. Having 6 heat settings is great when smoking with others who have different preferences or those new to concentrates. It’s easy to use and keep clean. The carrying case comes in handy when traveling. Everything breaks down and packs neatly in a low profile case. Customer service was responsive, polite,
Informative, and helpful during my shopping experience. Everything was explained to me and the process went smoothly with fast shipping.

I have been using the same core for a couple years and have bought two as gifts.
I wanted an upgrade and the lander was a great choice for me due to its proven tech. I bought this in a bundle and added all the options including the shaved atomizer. I was not expecting everything to come put together and ready with a couple gifts. The personal touch. This is a sturdy reliable rig that makes my sesh better.

Verified BuyerThe Lunar Lander is a beast. It makes fat, milky hits effortlessly. Much more efficient than a carta 2 that costs 2-3x the price. I did put 4, 3mm terp pearls in it which spins with ease, vaporizing pretty much the whole dab before the session is over on blue. Recently got the tug as well which is great for flavor, but if you’re trying to land on the moon, the Lunar Lander is what you want.

Verified BuyerI’m honestly blown away by this rig. It’s superior to a Puffco peak in every way. I had it set on blue and I couldn’t believe how many big hits I got out of even the smallest dabs. The trick is the slow pull. Slow and steady.
It’s also incredibly easy to clean. It’s compact, good weight in my hands, function on point… it’s becoming my daily driver.
I appreciate the attention to detail too. The terp pearl, dabbers, and back up dish are those little extras that go above and beyond.

I got the Lunar Lander as a replacement for a Puffco Peak Pro, and at half the price is definitely does not disappoint! This rig is a great daily driver, delivering tasty and terpy hits, plenty of perculation, and a long vaporization time which makes it great for passing around the circle (remember that?).
It’s solid and heavy and the silicone sleeve helps it grip my hand or the table so I know my klutzy ass isn’t likely to knock it over. The battery life is incredible, and the customer service has been phenomenal – Chuck even sent a video showing me how to take everything apart and clean it.
I can’t wait to try some other Dab Hut devices because my experience with the Lunar Lander has been such a great one. Highly recommend – there are way more heat settings options and ways to customize your experience with the different glass than any other device on the market, and I think I’ve tried most of them! Great work, thanks so much!
