Wym Designs | Switch 2 Insert

Carved from 99.99% pure Grade 1 titanium bar, one at a time, by Kyle Wym in a one-person shop in the USA. It drops straight into your Switch 2, heats fast, and fixes what the stock bucket gets wrong: the inside corners are rounded to fit a swab and the center floor is cut flat so your load melts evenly. Built for low-temp terp profiles.

Fitment

Commercially Pure Titanium
Grade 1 is the purest titanium you can machine, with none of the aluminum or vanadium found in Grade 5 alloy. It heats up fast and gets to temperature quickly. Run it in the 375 to 450F range and it does exactly what you ask of it.

Shaped for the Swab
Rounded inside corners match the curve of a swab tip, so there is no sharp corner trapping concentrate when you scoop or clean. The flat center floor keeps your load sitting evenly on the heat. Polished finish, cut one at a time.

Aftermarket part built for the Dr. Dabber Switch 2. Does not fit the Switch GO, which has its own Wym bucket. Wym Designs is an independent shop and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Dr. Dabber. The device name is listed for fitment only.

Ships Thursday
Ships from Southwestern Michigan, typically 2 to 4 days to most of the US via UPS Ground.

Wym Designs Ti Switch 2 Insert

The Material

Why Grade 1 Titanium

Most titanium parts in this space are Grade 5, which is an alloy. Grade 1 is commercially pure titanium, and that difference is the whole point of this bucket.

99.99% Pure, No Alloy
Grade 5 titanium is Ti-6Al-4V, roughly six percent aluminum and four percent vanadium mixed in for strength. Grade 1 skips all of that. It is commercially pure titanium bar, nothing added, and that is what Kyle cuts these from.

Built for Low Temp
Titanium comes up to temperature fast and responds the moment you load it. Kyle runs these from 375 to 450F and says the low-temp terp profiles are where they shine. Run it low and you taste the strain.

Will Not Crack on You
This is the practical argument for titanium over quartz or sapphire. Drop a sapphire insert and you are shopping for a new one. Titanium takes the hit. If you are hard on your gear or travel with your Switch 2, this is the insert that survives.

The Machining

Shaped for the Swab

This is not a stock bucket in a different material. The inside is shaped around how you actually load and clean it.

01
Rounded Inside Corners
A sharp inside corner is where concentrate hides and where your swab cannot reach. Kyle rounds them to match the curve of a swab tip, so one pass gets the whole wall.

02
Flat Center Floor
The middle of the floor is cut flat, so your load sits evenly on the heat instead of sliding into a low spot. Even contact means an even melt.

03
Cut One at a Time
Carved from solid titanium bar on a lathe, individually, then polished. Not stamped, not cast in a batch of ten thousand. That is why the tolerances are right and the corners are where he wants them.

Dial It In

Recommended Temps

Titanium moves heat fast, so the window matters more than it does on quartz. Kyle runs these in a specific range and so should you.

Recommended Range
375 to 450F
Straight from the maker. Start at the low end for flavor-forward material and work up if you want more vapor. This window is where the bucket was designed to live.

Why the Window
Ti Runs Hot, Fast
Because titanium heats quickly, pushing well past this range is where you start cooking off terpenes and where some people notice a metallic edge. Stay in the window and you will not have that problem.

The Lineup

Pick Your Switch 2 Insert

We carry several Switch 2 inserts. They are different tools, so here is the straight comparison.

The Shop

One Guy, One Lathe

Wym Designs is Kyle Wym, working alone. He designs, cuts, and finishes every part himself: titanium buckets for the Switch 2 and Switch GO, and the Piston joystick caps. Made to order, cut one at a time, in the USA.

We carry his work because it is the kind of thing we like: a person who runs the device, found what bugged him about the stock part, and fixed it on a lathe. We keep these in hand, so there is no made-to-order wait.

Honest Notes

Know Before You Buy

Heads Up
Aftermarket, Not Dr. Dabber
This is an independent aftermarket part made by Wym Designs. It is not made, endorsed, or sold by Dr. Dabber, and the device name is here for fitment only. It fits the Switch 2. It will not fit the Switch GO, which takes the smaller bucket we list separately.

Heads Up
Titanium Is Not Quartz
Plenty of people run titanium and taste nothing but their concentrate. Some people pick up a mild metallic character, usually at higher temperatures. That is why the 375 to 450F window exists. If flavor purity is your only metric, the Sapphire Plus is the honest recommendation.

Heads Up
Each One Is Cut Individually
These come off a lathe one at a time, not out of a mold. Faint tool marks and small cosmetic differences between units are normal and are evidence of how it was made. They have no effect on fit or performance.
