If you are upgrading from a Ruby Twist and already have a PID and dock, just grab the heater, coil, and balls. If you are adding a second heater to an existing setup, grab only the heater. The 10-Wrap Axial Coil does NOT fit the Wireless Docking Station. If you select the Wireless Docking Station, you need a Barrel Coil. The Axial Coil works with the Coil Stand and Clamp, the Simple Machined Aluminum Stand, and the Bigger Wireless Docking Station. Every order is reviewed before it ships — if we see an incompatible coil and dock combination in your order, we will reach out to fix it before fulfilling.

The Barrel Coil wraps the sides of the heater and outputs 200w. It is the OEM coil for the WOHW and fits the Wireless Docking Station. The Axial Coil wraps both the bottom and sides for fuller chamber coverage, outputs 150w, and runs at lower functional temps than the Barrel for the same extraction. We recommend the 10-Wrap Axial for most V2 builds. The Barrel is the right call if you are pairing with the Wireless Docking Station or already own one.

Yes, as long as the XLR pinout matches. The Ruby Twist PID uses the same standard 5-pin XLR wiring as the coils on this listing — pin 1 AC live, pin 2 AC zero, pin 3 temp positive, pin 4 temp negative, pin 5 ground. All Crossing-compatible coils sold here follow that spec. Skip the PID when building your kit and save the cost. If you are unsure about your specific controller, reach out before ordering.

Start with 2.5mm Ruby. It is what the V2 was designed around, it ships as the standard fill in every complete bundle, and it gives you the best baseline for dialing in temperature and draw. Once you know how you use the device, you can experiment with 2mm for more restriction and density or 3mm for a more open draw and faster recovery. Switching ball sizes is easy — swap the fill, adjust your PID temp by 10 to 20 degrees, and dial from there.

You want a water piece with some restriction — a smaller bubbler or rig in the 8 to 12 inch range works better than a wide-open bong. An 18mm joint gives you more volume and a freer pull; 14mm adds restriction and concentrates flavor.
