The Print
A Slice of a Print Nobody Can Identify
These start life as the parts of a Moodmat that never made it out of the shop. Trim from the edge of a sheet, a run that came out wrong, a color that landed off. Instead of binning it, Moodmats punches 1.5 inch circles out of the good areas and takes a half inch plug out of the middle, and the offcut goes back to work as something else entirely.
Which means the design on any given ring is a fragment of artwork that was drawn to be read at eleven or twelve inches, now cropped down to an inch and a half. You get a band of color, a piece of a line, some texture, and almost never enough information to work out what it was cut from. Occasionally you get lucky and catch a recognizable corner of something. Usually you just get a small abstract piece of rubber that looks good and belongs to nothing.
Every ring we stock carries UV reactive ink somewhere in it, because we pull the ones that do. How much of it and where is completely down to which part of which sheet your ring came off. Some light up across the whole face, some show a single glowing streak. Put a blacklight on one and find out.

Rubber That Already Had a First Life
Moodmats started with scraps from old wetsuits and discarded scuba and surf neoprene, material that was headed straight for a landfill. That became Lava Rubber, and Lava Rubber is what every Moodmat is cut from. The feedstock now comes from wetsuits, gaskets, weatherstripping, seat molds, and other clean scrap that gets collected or donated. More than two tons of it moves through the New Jersey shop every month, gets pressed into sheet stock, then die-cut and screen printed. Keeping that material out of the ground has been the point from day one.
Closed-Cell Neoprene
Closed-cell rubber does not drink up what you spill on it. Water, reclaim, and terp splash sit on the surface instead of soaking in, so a wipe with soapy water puts it back to new.
It Stays Put
The rubber grips whatever it is sitting on and grips whatever you set on top. A rig that would skate across a glass table or a finished desk stops moving the second it lands on a Moodmat.
Tough and Self-Extinguishing
Heat resistant, self-extinguishing, and built out of material that already survived a first life. This is not a printed coaster that curls after a month on the table.

What Fits In the Hole
A half inch hole in a grippy rubber ring turns out to be a very useful thing to own. It is a stand, a stop, and a place to put something down that will not tolerate rolling away.
Marbles and Pearls
The job it gets bought for most. A marble drops into the hole and stops dead instead of taking the fastest route to the floor. Works for terp pearls and spinner caps too.
Carb Caps
A hot cap coming off a banger has to land somewhere. A ring gives it a spot that is not your table, and a directional cap with a stem sits nose down in the hole.
14mm Bowls and Stems
The hole takes a 14mm joint, so a bowl or a downstem stands upright on the table instead of lying on its side collecting whatever is down there.
Desk and Display
A tiny plinth for anything small worth setting out on purpose. Dice, a ring, a figure, a favorite marble on a shelf. It is a display stand that costs about what a coffee does.

Wipe it down with warm water and a little dish soap, then let it air dry flat. That is the whole routine. Do not run it through a washing machine or a dryer, do not scrub the print with an abrasive pad, and do not rest a lit torch or a glowing-hot banger directly on the surface. Use a stand or a puck for anything still at temperature.

Know Before You Buy
You Do Not Pick the Print
This is the whole deal with these, so we are putting it first. Rings are pulled at random on the single and on the five pack. You cannot request a color, a design, or one you saw in a photo, and we are not able to hold a specific one. If you want a particular piece of art, buy a mat.
It Is Only an Inch and a Half
Photographed on its own, a ring looks bigger than it is. This is a small object, closer to a large coin than a coaster, and it holds one thing at a time. It is not a mat and it will not protect a work surface.
UV Varies Piece to Piece
Every ring we sell has reactive ink in it somewhere, because we only pull the ones that do. How much and where is luck. Some light up right across the face, some give you one glowing stripe. And as with all reactive ink, it is not glow in the dark, so it needs a 365nm or 395nm blacklight to do anything.
Upcycled Means Variation
The rubber is reclaimed scrap and these are cut from the parts of it that did not become a finished mat, so base color, speckle, edge finish and print coverage all shift piece to piece. That is not a defect, it is the entire reason these exist instead of going in a bin.
