The Print
It Is Looking Right At You
The face takes up the entire mat, edge to edge. Grey-green skin pocked with craters, brows shoved down low and heavy, and underneath them two eyes burning red-orange with white-hot centers, the kind of glow that reads as lit from inside. The nose is a blunt lump in the middle. Below it, a mouth far wider than the face should allow, crammed with big crooked yellow teeth over raw red gums, pulled into something between a grin and a threat.
A lit cigarette is clamped in the corner of that grin, ash built up on the end, a thin ribbon of smoke curling past the cheek. Bright green ooze creeps in around the outer rim like the whole thing is leaking from the edges. Between the brows sits a small gold emblem built from stacked triangles. Dark Mountain Cult signed it into the border on the right.
You have probably seen this face somewhere before, or something close to it. What earns the money on the mat is the execution: heavy confident black linework, a palette of sick green and bone grey slammed against burning red and acid yellow, and a composition that points every line inward at those eyes. Set it on a table and it stares straight up at whoever is standing over it.

Dark Mountain Cult
Dark Mountain Cult runs as much like a collector club as a studio. The back of every mat points at their Instagram and their art group, where the trading, giveaways and sneak peeks happen well before anything reaches a buyer. Moths run all through their branding, and five of them sit across the top of this one. This is the second Dark Mountain Cult piece in our case, alongside their collab with 74LANDS.

Rubber That Already Had a First Life
Moodmats started with scraps from old wetsuits and discarded scuba and surf neoprene, material that was headed straight for a landfill. That became Lava Rubber, and Lava Rubber is what every Moodmat is cut from. The feedstock now comes from wetsuits, gaskets, weatherstripping, seat molds, and other clean scrap that gets collected or donated. More than two tons of it moves through the New Jersey shop every month, gets pressed into sheet stock, then die-cut and screen printed. Keeping that material out of the ground has been the point from day one.
Closed-Cell Neoprene
Closed-cell rubber does not drink up what you spill on it. Water, reclaim, and terp splash sit on the surface instead of soaking in, so a wipe with soapy water puts it back to new.
It Stays Put
The rubber grips whatever it is sitting on and grips whatever you set on top. A rig that would skate across a glass table or a finished desk stops moving the second it lands on a Moodmat.
Tough and Self-Extinguishing
Heat resistant, self-extinguishing, and built out of material that already survived a first life. This is not a printed coaster that curls after a month on the table.

Some Moodmats you can order any time. This is not one of those. Dark Mountain Cult made 25, numbered every one by hand, and released the entire run through a live sale. If you were not in the room you did not get one, which is why most people who would want this have never seen it come up for sale.
Printed Right On It
Under the hand-inked 18 over 25, in Moodmats’ own print, it reads LIVE SALE EXCLUSIVE. That is not our marketing language, it is stamped on the back of the mat.
No Reprints
Moodmats does not go back and run a sold-out design again. When this one leaves our shelf, the next one you see will already belong to somebody.
Worth Hanging
A print this limited does not have to earn its keep under a rig. Plenty of these end up on a wall, in a frame, or stacked with the rest of a collection.

Wipe it down with warm water and a little dish soap, then let it air dry flat. That is the whole routine. Do not run it through a washing machine or a dryer, do not scrub the print with an abrasive pad, and do not rest a lit torch or a glowing-hot banger directly on the surface. Use a stand or a puck for anything still at temperature.

Know Before You Buy
This Is the Exact Mat You Get
One of these exists here and it is number 18 of 25. The photos are of that actual piece, front and back, including the hand-inked number and the live sale mark. There is no second copy behind the counter.
No UV on This One
Some Moodmats in our case are printed with UV reactive ink and turn into a second picture under a blacklight. This one is standard ink. What you see in the photos is what you get in any lighting, so do not buy it expecting a blacklight trick.
Upcycled Means Variation
The rubber is reclaimed scrap, so base color, speckle, and surface texture shift from sheet to sheet. The back photo shows exactly what this one looks like. That grey grit is the recycled material, not a defect.
Heat Resistant, Not Heatproof
The rubber is self-extinguishing and handles warm gear without complaint. It is not a torch pad. Park anything still glowing on a proper stand or a quartz puck, not on the print.
