The Print
A Spray Can That Booked a Holiday
The face is what sells it. It sits across the middle of the can, wide and low, with thick black brows over a pair of heavy lidded bloodshot eyes that are not entirely present. Yellow framed snorkel goggles are pushed on over the top, the red, white and blue strap trailing loose off one side and the yellow snorkel tube curving down the other. There is a pink blush spot on one cheek and a big pink tongue lolling out below. It is a character drawn at exactly the pitch this subject wants, somewhere between a mascot and somebody two hours into a beach day.
Everything around the face is holiday equipment. One white gloved hand is out to the side holding a brown coconut cup with a white and yellow bendy straw in it, a second straw beside that, a red cherry swizzle and a small purple and black cocktail parasol. The other arm comes down as a big mitt with a brown pipe in it. The legs are thin white cartoon tubes ending in oversized white sneakers with red laces, black and white striped side panels and striped socks pulled up above them. Up top, the can wears a vertically striped grey and white cap with a magenta spiral mark on the face of it.
The print is flat colour and heavy line, no gradients beyond the soft airbrush on the can body, which is exactly what suits screen printing on reclaimed rubber. There is no reactive ink in it, so a blacklight leaves this one where it is. Twelve inches at the widest point, cut to the character, standard ink, full colour.

Credited by the maker on their own product page for this design, and that is the whole of what we can tell you. There is no signature in the artwork, no lettering anywhere on the mat, and we are not going to build a biography out of a handle we have not verified. What the drawing itself shows is a hand comfortable with cartoon character work: heavy black outline, a white keyline outside it, flat cel fills, and just enough airbrush to give a white can a round shoulder.

Rubber That Already Had a First Life
Moodmats started with scraps from old wetsuits and discarded scuba and surf neoprene, material that was headed straight for a landfill. That became Lava Rubber, and Lava Rubber is what every Moodmat is cut from. The feedstock now comes from wetsuits, gaskets, weatherstripping, seat molds, and other clean scrap that gets collected or donated. More than two tons of it moves through the New Jersey shop every month, gets pressed into sheet stock, then die-cut and screen printed. Keeping that material out of the ground has been the point from day one.
Closed-Cell Neoprene
Closed-cell rubber does not drink up what you spill on it. Water, reclaim, and terp splash sit on the surface instead of soaking in, so a wipe with soapy water puts it back to new.
It Stays Put
The rubber grips whatever it is sitting on and grips whatever you set on top. A rig that would skate across a glass table or a finished desk stops moving the second it lands on a Moodmat.
Tough and Self-Extinguishing
Heat resistant, self-extinguishing, and built out of material that already survived a first life. This is not a printed coaster that curls after a month on the table.

Why It Matters
Runs End. Prints Do Not Come Back.
Moodmats print in runs, and runs end. Once a design is out, it is out. Artist collabs and drop exclusives regularly land in quantities of ten to twenty five pieces, which is why the people who collect these track drops, trade them, and frame the ones they will never put a rig on. If this specific print matters to you, the time to grab it is while it is still on the shelf.
A Run of One Hundred Fifty, Quoted From the Maker
One hundred fifty is the entire production for this design according to the maker’s own product page. There is no hand inked number on the piece and we have no photograph of the back to check, so the run size is what we quote and we are not going to invent a position inside it. Moodmats rotates artist collaborations out when a run finishes and does not go back and print a design again. We have two.
No Reprints
Moodmats does not go back and run a sold-out design again. When this one is gone from our shelf and theirs, the only way to get it is from somebody who already has one.
Worth Hanging
A print this limited does not have to earn its keep under a rig. Plenty of these end up on a wall, in a frame, or stacked with the rest of a collection.

Wipe it down with warm water and a little dish soap, then let it air dry flat. That is the whole routine. Do not run it through a washing machine or a dryer, do not scrub the print with an abrasive pad, and do not rest a lit torch or a glowing-hot banger directly on the surface. Use a stand or a puck for anything still at temperature.

Know Before You Buy
Upcycled Means Variation
The rubber is reclaimed scrap, so base color, speckle, and surface texture shift slightly from sheet to sheet. Two mats of the same design will not be photocopies of each other. That is how you know it is the real material and not virgin stock.
Heat Resistant, Not Heatproof
The rubber is self-extinguishing and handles warm gear without complaint. It is not a torch pad. Park anything still glowing on a proper stand or a quartz puck, not on the print.
Die-Cut Means Irregular Edges
The outline follows the arm, the coconut, the parasol and both sneakers, so it has real points and notches in it. The listed twelve inches is the widest point rather than a uniform footprint. The parasol, the straws and the thin legs are the narrowest sections of rubber on the piece, so measure your space if it is tight and set your rig over the can body rather than out on an arm.
No UV on This One
Standard ink, full colour, no reactive application. A blacklight does nothing to it. Plenty of Moodmats do light up and this print is not one of them, and we would rather say so here than have you plug in a lamp and wonder what went wrong.
One Photo, Front Only
The image on this page is our own shot of the mat rather than a maker product photo, which is the good news. The gap is that we have not photographed the back, so nothing on this page claims anything about back of mat markings, and the run of 150 comes off the maker’s product page rather than off a number box we have seen with our own eyes. Two on the shelf, and the rubber underneath shifts in base speckle from sheet to sheet.
