Rainbow Roadtrip Moodmat
Eleven by eight inches of melting, spiral-eyed, rainbow-soaked cartoon on recycled New Jersey rubber. Full color in the light, a second picture entirely under a blacklight. Dark Mountain Cult made 25 and released every one through a live sale.
The Print
He Is Having the Best Time
A big round cartoon face fills the middle of the rectangle, and he is coming apart. Thick black drips run off the brows, off the cap, off the corners of a heavy black mustache, like the whole character is warming up and starting to slide. His skin is a flat warm tan, his nose is an enormous soft ball, and where his eyes should be there are two rainbow spirals winding inward. He does not look distressed about any of this.
The cap on his head is striped in full rainbow with a green leaf sitting on the front, right where a logo would normally go. Behind and across him runs a wide rainbow ribbon, red through yellow through green through blue, with a strip of black starfield threaded down its center. It loops over his face, swings out to the right, and disappears off toward a horizon. The background is bright turquoise, dotted with white sparkles, with a ring of flame-shaped tongues eating in from all four edges. Down at the chin, a small red cap with a question mark on it drips like everything else.
Under a blacklight it becomes another piece. The turquoise drops to deep blue, the ribbon and cap stripes come up in teal and hot pink, the spiral eyes glow, and the flame border turns into pale blue light around a dark field. It is the best-looking print in our case and we will argue about it with anybody: the most color, the most motion, and the widest gap between its two states of anything we carry.

Dark Mountain Cult runs as much like a collector club as a studio. Their marks and their moths sit across the back of every mat, pointing at the Instagram and the art group where the trading, giveaways and sneak peeks happen long before anything reaches a buyer. This is the second Dark Mountain Cult design in our case alongside their scowling moon, plus their collab with 74LANDS.

Rubber That Already Had a First Life
Moodmats started with scraps from old wetsuits and discarded scuba and surf neoprene, material that was headed straight for a landfill. That became Lava Rubber, and Lava Rubber is what every Moodmat is cut from. The feedstock now comes from wetsuits, gaskets, weatherstripping, seat molds, and other clean scrap that gets collected or donated. More than two tons of it moves through the New Jersey shop every month, gets pressed into sheet stock, then die-cut and screen printed. Keeping that material out of the ground has been the point from day one.
Closed-Cell Neoprene
Closed-cell rubber does not drink up what you spill on it. Water, reclaim, and terp splash sit on the surface instead of soaking in, so a wipe with soapy water puts it back to new.
It Stays Put
The rubber grips whatever it is sitting on and grips whatever you set on top. A rig that would skate across a glass table or a finished desk stops moving the second it lands on a Moodmat.
Tough and Self-Extinguishing
Heat resistant, self-extinguishing, and built out of material that already survived a first life. This is not a printed coaster that curls after a month on the table.

Dark Mountain Cult capped this design at 25 pieces, hand numbered every one, and moved the whole run through a live sale. That is the entire distribution. No shelf, no product page, no restock. We managed to pull three of them, which is more than a tenth of everything that was ever made, and when those three are gone we have no way to get another.
Printed Right On It
The back carries the hand-inked number over 25, and beneath it, in Moodmats’ own print, LIMITED EDITION and LIVE SALE EXCLUSIVE. That is not our marketing language. It is stamped on the mat.
Every Copy Here Is Single Digit
All three we pulled carry single-digit numbers out of the 25. If low numbers matter to you, message us before you order and we will tell you which one is next out the door.
No Reprints
Moodmats does not go back and run a sold-out design again. Once these leave, the next one you see will already belong to somebody else.

Wipe it down with warm water and a little dish soap, then let it air dry flat. That is the whole routine. Do not run it through a washing machine or a dryer, do not scrub the print with an abrasive pad, and do not rest a lit torch or a glowing-hot banger directly on the surface. Use a stand or a puck for anything still at temperature.

Know Before You Buy
The Number You Get Will Vary
Each mat is hand numbered out of 25 on the back and we hold more than one. The photos show the number on the copy we photographed, not necessarily the copy that ships to you. Every one we have is single digit. Ask us before you order and we will tell you exactly which.
UV Reactive Is Not Glow in the Dark
The second version needs a blacklight. A 365nm or 395nm lamp is what brings it up. It will not charge in daylight and glow on its own in a dark room. Under normal light you get the full-color print, which is a complete piece on its own.
Upcycled Means Variation
The rubber is reclaimed scrap, so base color, speckle, and surface texture shift from sheet to sheet. That grey grit around the print edge is the recycled material, not a defect.
Heat Resistant, Not Heatproof
The rubber is self-extinguishing and handles warm gear without complaint. It is not a torch pad. Park anything still glowing on a proper stand or a quartz puck, not on the print.
