The Print
A King That Works Upside Down
The design is a full bleed playing card. The outer band is black with four thin white pinstripes forming a nested rectangular frame, and in the upper left corner a fat red slab K sits above a bright green seven point cannabis leaf where the pip would normally go. The lower right corner repeats that pair rotated 180 degrees, which is true card point symmetry. The upper right corner holds a small yellow crown with dotted finials above a lime green moth with two big white skull faced eyespots on its wings, and that pair is mirrored in the lower left. Four corners, two motifs, all of it rotationally correct.
The inner panel is the court illustration and it is mirrored the same way, two halves meeting in the middle on a radiating sunburst of black wedges over a gradient that runs lime into yellow into orange into red. Each half is a bearded king in profile facing inward, long silver grey wavy hair and a full beard, one heavy lidded eye closed, a yellow spiked crown with red ball tips banded in teal, and an ermine robe in black with a white spotted fur collar and cuffs, red and gold trim and a broad teal sash across the chest. One hand is raised to his mouth pinching a lit joint, and out of it comes a huge billow of grey and white cumulus smoke drawn in American traditional tattoo cloud outlines. The smoke is the biggest single element in the piece and it is what fills the space between the two figures.
It is heavy black tattoo flash outline with flat cel colour underneath, no gradients in the figures and no shading, which is the right build for screen printing. Part of the print is UV reactive. We have not photographed this one under a blacklight yet, so we are telling you it lights up because we have the mat and we know it does, and we are not going to describe colours we have not seen under a lamp.

Dark Mountain Cult
The back of the mat is printed in a pale ice blue ink rather than the usual white and carries a cluster of moths, the name DARK MOUNTAIN CULT, the instagram handle, the lines trade / sell / collect and giveaways / sneak peaks and more here, a Facebook art group by the same name, then an x and the moodmats wordmark. Alongside all of that sit LIMITED EDITION, LIVE SALE EXCLUSIVE and a hand inked number box over 25. It is a collective rather than a person, and no individual is named on the piece, so no individual is named here. The moth with the skull faced eyespots in the corners of the card is their own mark, which is how you tell the front and the back belong to each other.

Rubber That Already Had a First Life
Moodmats started with scraps from old wetsuits and discarded scuba and surf neoprene, material that was headed straight for a landfill. That became Lava Rubber, and Lava Rubber is what every Moodmat is cut from. The feedstock now comes from wetsuits, gaskets, weatherstripping, seat molds, and other clean scrap that gets collected or donated. More than two tons of it moves through the New Jersey shop every month, gets pressed into sheet stock, then die-cut and screen printed. Keeping that material out of the ground has been the point from day one.
Closed-Cell Neoprene
Closed-cell rubber does not drink up what you spill on it. Water, reclaim, and terp splash sit on the surface instead of soaking in, so a wipe with soapy water puts it back to new.
It Stays Put
The rubber grips whatever it is sitting on and grips whatever you set on top. A rig that would skate across a glass table or a finished desk stops moving the second it lands on a Moodmat.
Tough and Self-Extinguishing
Heat resistant, self-extinguishing, and built out of material that already survived a first life. This is not a printed coaster that curls after a month on the table.

Why It Matters
Runs End. Prints Do Not Come Back.
Moodmats print in runs, and runs end. Once a design is out, it is out. Artist collabs and drop exclusives regularly land in quantities of ten to twenty five pieces, which is why the people who collect these track drops, trade them, and frame the ones they will never put a rig on. If this specific print matters to you, the time to grab it is while it is still on the shelf.
Twenty Five, and the Mat Says So Itself
This is the strongest edition evidence in the batch and it is not coming off a spreadsheet. The back of the mat prints LIMITED EDITION and LIVE SALE EXCLUSIVE, and next to them there is a number box inked by hand over a printed 25. That is three separate marks on the piece all saying the same thing, which is more than most numbered mats carry and considerably more than the ones that only carry a signature. What we will not do is tell you which of the twenty five you are getting. The number varies from unit to unit, so the run is what we quote and a position in it is not.
No Reprints
Moodmats does not go back and run a sold-out design again. When this one is gone from our shelf and theirs, the only way to get it is from somebody who already has one.
Worth Hanging
A print this limited does not have to earn its keep under a rig. Plenty of these end up on a wall, in a frame, or stacked with the rest of a collection.

Wipe it down with warm water and a little dish soap, then let it air dry flat. That is the whole routine. Do not run it through a washing machine or a dryer, do not scrub the print with an abrasive pad, and do not rest a lit torch or a glowing-hot banger directly on the surface. Use a stand or a puck for anything still at temperature.

Know Before You Buy
Upcycled Means Variation
The rubber is reclaimed scrap, so base color, speckle, and surface texture shift slightly from sheet to sheet. Two mats of the same design will not be photocopies of each other. That is how you know it is the real material and not virgin stock.
Heat Resistant, Not Heatproof
The rubber is self-extinguishing and handles warm gear without complaint. It is not a torch pad. Park anything still glowing on a proper stand or a quartz puck, not on the print.
The UV Is Real, the Photo of It Is Not Taken Yet
This print has a UV reactive application in it and we know that because we have the mat, not because a sheet says so. What we do not have is a blacklight photograph, so nothing on this page shows the glow and we are not going to guess at which colours come up or how hard. If that is the reason you are buying it, message us first and we will put it under a lamp and tell you what we see.
The Number on the Back Is Not the One We Quote
There is a hand inked figure in the number box on the back of this mat, and we have two of these on the shelf, so the number in any back photo is not a promise about the one that ships. The claims on this page are the run of 25, the fact that each piece is numbered, and the live sale exclusive line that is printed on the back. Anything more precise is not something we can guarantee, so we do not say it.
Full Bleed Means the Print Runs to the Cut Edge
There is no bare rubber margin around the outside of this one. The pinstriped border is part of the design and the outermost stripe sits close to the cut, so scuffing along the edge will show on the print rather than on unprinted rubber. It is not fragile and it is not a defect, it is just where wear turns up first on a full bleed piece. Store it flat rather than rolled and it stays where it started.
