The Print
Crowned, Grinning, Half Asleep
The head is the whole piece and it fills almost all of it. Dusty rose pink, rounded skull, two long pointed ears that could belong to a cat or a bat depending on how long you look at them. A small gold crown floats above the ears without touching the head, tilted slightly, drawn as a simple three point band rather than as anything royal. The color is flat and muted, closer to old chewed bubblegum than to anything candy bright, which is what keeps the piece from tipping into cute.
Everything interesting happens in the face. The eyes are big yellow green discs under heavy half closed lids, veined red through the whites, aimed somewhere just past you rather than at you. Underneath, the mouth runs wide and crooked, higher on one side than the other, packed with square white teeth drawn like tiles. A red tongue pushes out through a gap in the front row. It is the exact face of somebody who has been awake for a while and is fine with it.
Around all of that, the sunset. A hot orange field radiates out from behind the head and fades as it reaches a rough black border that drips down into the cut edge, so the piece is framed twice, once by light and once by the drips. There is no reactive ink in this one, it is a flat full color print and nothing changes under a blacklight. If you want the same character with the heat turned up, the yellow and peach colorway is on the shelf too, shades pushed up on its forehead instead of a crown and a graffiti wall behind it instead of a sky.

Credited on the maker’s page by a handle rather than by a legal name, and we run the short form of it here. The drawing tells you the rest: one heavy black keyline that never lightens, flat unshaded color, and a character built entirely around one big expression instead of a scene. Two colorways of this same creature came through in the same batch, which is how this style tends to work, one drawing pushed through different weather.

Rubber That Already Had a First Life
Moodmats started with scraps from old wetsuits and discarded scuba and surf neoprene, material that was headed straight for a landfill. That became Lava Rubber, and Lava Rubber is what every Moodmat is cut from. The feedstock now comes from wetsuits, gaskets, weatherstripping, seat molds, and other clean scrap that gets collected or donated. More than two tons of it moves through the New Jersey shop every month, gets pressed into sheet stock, then die-cut and screen printed. Keeping that material out of the ground has been the point from day one.
Closed-Cell Neoprene
Closed-cell rubber does not drink up what you spill on it. Water, reclaim, and terp splash sit on the surface instead of soaking in, so a wipe with soapy water puts it back to new.
It Stays Put
The rubber grips whatever it is sitting on and grips whatever you set on top. A rig that would skate across a glass table or a finished desk stops moving the second it lands on a Moodmat.
Tough and Self-Extinguishing
Heat resistant, self-extinguishing, and built out of material that already survived a first life. This is not a printed coaster that curls after a month on the table.

Why It Matters
Runs End. Prints Do Not Come Back.
Moodmats print in runs, and runs end. Once a design is out, it is out. Artist collabs and drop exclusives regularly land in quantities of ten to twenty five pieces, which is why the people who collect these track drops, trade them, and frame the ones they will never put a rig on. If this specific print matters to you, the time to grab it is while it is still on the shelf.
No Count Printed, So No Count Claimed
Moodmats rotates artist designs in and out of the catalog, and when one rotates out the print goes with it. No run size is printed on this piece and none is stated by the maker, so we are not going to put a number on it. What we can tell you is that we have one, and that we would rather understate this than sell you a limit that does not exist.
No Reprints
Moodmats does not go back and run a sold-out design again. When this one is gone from our shelf and theirs, the only way to get it is from somebody who already has one.
Worth Hanging
A print this limited does not have to earn its keep under a rig. Plenty of these end up on a wall, in a frame, or stacked with the rest of a collection.

Wipe it down with warm water and a little dish soap, then let it air dry flat. That is the whole routine. Do not run it through a washing machine or a dryer, do not scrub the print with an abrasive pad, and do not rest a lit torch or a glowing-hot banger directly on the surface. Use a stand or a puck for anything still at temperature.

Know Before You Buy
Upcycled Means Variation
The rubber is reclaimed scrap, so base color, speckle, and surface texture shift slightly from sheet to sheet. Two mats of the same design will not be photocopies of each other. That is how you know it is the real material and not virgin stock.
Heat Resistant, Not Heatproof
The rubber is self-extinguishing and handles warm gear without complaint. It is not a torch pad. Park anything still glowing on a proper stand or a quartz puck, not on the print.
No UV on This One
Standard ink, full color, no reactive application anywhere in the print. A blacklight does nothing to it. Plenty of Moodmats do light up under one, this design is not among them, and we would rather say so now than have you plug in a lamp and wonder what went wrong.
Die-Cut Means Irregular Edges
The cut follows the drawing, so you get ear points, a bumpy jaw line and a ragged dripping bottom edge instead of a clean circle or square. The listed nine inches is the widest point in each direction rather than a uniform footprint, and the ear tips are the thinnest sections of rubber on the piece.
