The Print
A Night Sky Mane and Four Insect Wings
Start at the head, because that is where the two halves of the name meet. The muzzle is soft and rounded in pink and cream, horse shaped, with one visible eye carrying a blue iris, dark lashes and a green highlight at the brow. Above it sits a spiraled horn banded in gold and violet. Either side of that are frilled fin ears with the membrane webbing drawn in, which is a dragon detail rather than a horse one, and the frills carry down the neck. Four wings rise off the back and they are insect wings, not feathered ones: flat membrane panels with fine veining, filled like stained glass in pastel pink, mint, lavender and butter yellow, and each panel is rimmed in a different bright line. Green on the upper right, cyan on the upper left, yellow and orange running along the lower edges.
The body is where the palette goes strange in a good way. Mane and tail are deep navy and teal, speckled with small white dots so both read as a night sky rather than as hair, and they flow across the entire torso instead of sitting behind it. The hindquarters and legs are washed in yellow, orange, magenta and green with tiger striping laid over the top and finned fringes running down the back of each leg. Hooves are pale lavender. Curving along the lower chest and belly is a red band with FindMANA.com in white type knocked out of it. That is the artist’s own address, it is part of the original painting, and it is the only text anywhere on the piece. No title, no run number, no separate signature.
As an object it is a painting first. Continuous tone the whole way, blended gradients rather than flat cel fill, no halftone dots anywhere and no heavy keyline doing the work of holding shapes apart. The die cut is a smoothed offset of the silhouette rather than a tight trace, so the concave gaps between the legs and under the jaw carry a wider band of bare rubber than the wing edges do. Registration is clean and there are no visible print defects. Only the front has ever been photographed, so the backing, the thickness and the edge finish are things we will confirm when ours comes out of the wrap rather than things we are going to describe to you now.

Credited on the maker’s product page as MANA, which is a named individual handle rather than a studio or a collective, and that is the reason this row carries the Artist Series badge instead of falling through to a run number. Nothing further is claimed about the artist here. What the piece itself supports is a painter rather than a screen print designer: the color is blended and continuous, the anatomy under the fantasy is drawn naturalistically, and the composition is built to be read at arm’s length. The FindMANA.com band across the chest is the artist’s own mark, which is the closest thing to a signature the mat carries.

Rubber That Already Had a First Life
Moodmats started with scraps from old wetsuits and discarded scuba and surf neoprene, material that was headed straight for a landfill. That became Lava Rubber, and Lava Rubber is what every Moodmat is cut from. The feedstock now comes from wetsuits, gaskets, weatherstripping, seat molds, and other clean scrap that gets collected or donated. More than two tons of it moves through the New Jersey shop every month, gets pressed into sheet stock, then die-cut and screen printed. Keeping that material out of the ground has been the point from day one.
Closed-Cell Neoprene
Closed-cell rubber does not drink up what you spill on it. Water, reclaim, and terp splash sit on the surface instead of soaking in, so a wipe with soapy water puts it back to new.
It Stays Put
The rubber grips whatever it is sitting on and grips whatever you set on top. A rig that would skate across a glass table or a finished desk stops moving the second it lands on a Moodmat.
Tough and Self-Extinguishing
Heat resistant, self-extinguishing, and built out of material that already survived a first life. This is not a printed coaster that curls after a month on the table.

Why It Matters

Moodmats print in runs, and runs end. Once a design is out, it is out. Artist collabs and drop exclusives regularly land in quantities of ten to twenty five pieces, which is why the people who collect these track drops, trade them, and frame the ones they will never put a rig on. If this specific print matters to you, the time to grab it is while it is still on the shelf.
A Run of 150, and Nothing Finer Than That
One hundred and fifty is the whole production for this design according to the maker. There is no hand inked figure anywhere on the printed face, we have no photo of the back of one, and we are not going to invent a position inside a run we cannot verify, so the number we give you is the size of the run and that is where it stops. One came in on our first wholesale order and one is what is on the shelf.
No Reprints
Moodmats does not go back and run a sold-out design again. When this one is gone from our shelf and theirs, the only way to get it is from somebody who already has one.
Worth Hanging
A print this limited does not have to earn its keep under a rig. Plenty of these end up on a wall, in a frame, or stacked with the rest of a collection.

Wipe it down with warm water and a little dish soap, then let it air dry flat. That is the whole routine. Do not run it through a washing machine or a dryer, do not scrub the print with an abrasive pad, and do not rest a lit torch or a glowing-hot banger directly on the surface. Use a stand or a puck for anything still at temperature.

Upcycled Means Variation
The rubber is reclaimed scrap, so base color, speckle, and surface texture shift slightly from sheet to sheet. Two mats of the same design will not be photocopies of each other. That is how you know it is the real material and not virgin stock.
Heat Resistant, Not Heatproof
The rubber is self-extinguishing and handles warm gear without complaint. It is not a torch pad. Park anything still glowing on a proper stand or a quartz puck, not on the print.
There Is a Web Address Printed on It
FindMANA.com sits in white type knocked out of a red band curving along the lower chest and belly. It belongs to the artist, it is part of the original painting rather than something the maker or we added, and it cannot be peeled off or cleaned away. It is also the only text on the whole mat. If you are buying this to hang, it is a signature. If you are buying it to put a rig on, it will be under the rig most of the time. Either way you should know it is there before it arrives.
Twelve Inches Is the Widest Point
The die follows the artwork, so twelve inches measures the longest span across the shape and not a tidy square footprint. Horn, wing tips, raised front legs and tail all stick out past the body of the creature, and the outline between them curves back in. Measure the space you have in mind if it is tight, and expect an uneven bare rubber margin around the print rather than a clean even border.
These Are the Maker’s Photos For Now
The single image on this page is the manufacturer’s product shot rather than a picture of the mat in our hands. It is a clean studio photo with the background knocked out, which makes it an accurate look at the print and a poor look at scale, since nothing in frame gives you anything to measure against. It is also not a picture of the exact sheet you will get. The rubber underneath is reclaimed scrap and the base speckle shifts from mat to mat. One on hand, and our own photo is on the list.
