The Print
Twenty Seven Wet Beads on Cream
Start with the surface, because that is what sells this one. Every dot is rendered as a dome: a soft airbrush gradient falling away from a small bright highlight at the upper left, glossy where the cream ground around it is matte. Hold still and it looks like a well drawn circle. Move, and the highlight moves too, sliding across the top of each dome as the angle changes, one after another down the mat. That is gloss on a curve doing what gloss on a curve does, and it is the difference between a picture of a bead and something that reads as a bead sitting there wet.
The layout underneath is strict and it is the right call. A warm off white cream field sits inside a bare black rubber border about a quarter inch wide with softly rounded corners, and the field does not bleed off the edge. On the cream, nine rows of three evenly spaced dots march straight down in three colour bands. The top three rows are cornflower blue, the middle three are butter yellow, the bottom three are bubblegum pink. Twenty seven in total, all the same size, all the same spacing, nothing knocked out of alignment for effect.
There is no line work anywhere in it. No outlines, no keylines, no shadow, no signature, no lettering, no title on the face of the mat. The palette is pastel and deliberately desaturated against the cream so nothing shouts. This is standard ink with no UV in it, and the interest is entirely in the surface and the spacing rather than in any lighting trick.

Rubber That Already Had a First Life
Moodmats started with scraps from old wetsuits and discarded scuba and surf neoprene, material that was headed straight for a landfill. That became Lava Rubber, and Lava Rubber is what every Moodmat is cut from. The feedstock now comes from wetsuits, gaskets, weatherstripping, seat molds, and other clean scrap that gets collected or donated. More than two tons of it moves through the New Jersey shop every month, gets pressed into sheet stock, then die-cut and screen printed. Keeping that material out of the ground has been the point from day one.
Closed-Cell Neoprene
Closed-cell rubber does not drink up what you spill on it. Water, reclaim, and terp splash sit on the surface instead of soaking in, so a wipe with soapy water puts it back to new.
It Stays Put
The rubber grips whatever it is sitting on and grips whatever you set on top. A rig that would skate across a glass table or a finished desk stops moving the second it lands on a Moodmat.
Tough and Self-Extinguishing
Heat resistant, self-extinguishing, and built out of material that already survived a first life. This is not a printed coaster that curls after a month on the table.

Wipe it down with warm water and a little dish soap, then let it air dry flat. That is the whole routine. Do not run it through a washing machine or a dryer, do not scrub the print with an abrasive pad, and do not rest a lit torch or a glowing-hot banger directly on the surface. Use a stand or a puck for anything still at temperature.

Know Before You Buy
Upcycled Means Variation
The rubber is reclaimed scrap, so base color, speckle, and surface texture shift slightly from sheet to sheet. Two mats of the same design will not be photocopies of each other. That is how you know it is the real material and not virgin stock.
Heat Resistant, Not Heatproof
The rubber is self-extinguishing and handles warm gear without complaint. It is not a torch pad. Park anything still glowing on a proper stand or a quartz puck, not on the print.
We Have Not Measured This One Yet
That is an honest gap rather than a style choice. We know from the photograph that it is a narrow portrait rectangle running roughly twice as long as it is wide, which puts it in runner territory, and we are not going to put inches on this page that we have not put a tape measure to. If the exact footprint matters for the space you have in mind, message us before you buy and we will go and measure it.
No UV on This One
Standard ink, no reactive application. A blacklight does nothing to it. Several Moodmats do light up under one, this print is not among them, and we would rather say so now than have you plug in a lamp and wonder what you did wrong.
Nothing Is Claimed About the Back
We have not photographed the back of this mat, so we do not know what is printed there, if anything. That is why there is no maker credit on this page and no claims about how it was produced. The front is photographed and described accurately and everything else is left alone rather than guessed at.
