The Print
A Caterpillar Built Out of Plates
The creature is the whole show. It sits coiled on a cluster of mushroom caps with a tall gold hookah rising beside it, upper arms near the mouthpiece, and the body is armored head to tail in overlapping scales of orange, teal and blue. Nothing on it is drawn flat. Every plate carries its own engraved fill, the segments interlock like machined parts, and the face lands somewhere between an insect and a piece of clockwork. Look at it long enough and you stop reading it as a bug.
Then the exhale. Smoke leaves the pipe and curls upward into bubble letters spelling WHO ARE YOU across the top of the frame, outlined and shaded in the same manner as everything else so the lettering sits inside the art instead of on top of it. Behind all of it is a royal blue crosshatch field, and the scene is held in an oval black vignette with gold and white double lines ruled around the edge. The artist signature is small, at mid right, inside the frame.
It is a flat color screen print on twelve inches of reclaimed rubber and the drawing carries it on its own. We have not had a blacklight on this one and the intake sheet does not settle the question, so this page makes no UV claim in either direction. What we can tell you is that the line work reads from across a room and rewards a look from six inches, which is the point of putting a drawing this dense on something you actually use.

BioWorkz is the name credited on this print and one of the illustrators Moodmats has run through their artist series. We are not going to invent a biography, so here is what the drawing itself proves. The whole approach is ornament: every surface subdivided into plates and scales, every plate given its own engraved fill, the background built out of hand crosshatching rather than flat color, and the frame ruled in double lines. The signature sits on the front at mid right.

Rubber That Already Had a First Life
Moodmats started with scraps from old wetsuits and discarded scuba and surf neoprene, material that was headed straight for a landfill. That became Lava Rubber, and Lava Rubber is what every Moodmat is cut from. The feedstock now comes from wetsuits, gaskets, weatherstripping, seat molds, and other clean scrap that gets collected or donated. More than two tons of it moves through the New Jersey shop every month, gets pressed into sheet stock, then die-cut and screen printed. Keeping that material out of the ground has been the point from day one.
Closed-Cell Neoprene
Closed-cell rubber does not drink up what you spill on it. Water, reclaim, and terp splash sit on the surface instead of soaking in, so a wipe with soapy water puts it back to new.
It Stays Put
The rubber grips whatever it is sitting on and grips whatever you set on top. A rig that would skate across a glass table or a finished desk stops moving the second it lands on a Moodmat.
Tough and Self-Extinguishing
Heat resistant, self-extinguishing, and built out of material that already survived a first life. This is not a printed coaster that curls after a month on the table.

Why It Matters
Runs End. Prints Do Not Come Back.
Moodmats print in runs, and runs end. Once a design is out, it is out. Artist collabs and drop exclusives regularly land in quantities of ten to twenty five pieces, which is why the people who collect these track drops, trade them, and frame the ones they will never put a rig on. If this specific print matters to you, the time to grab it is while it is still on the shelf.
Two Hundred in the Run
Two hundred is the run size our intake sheet carries for this design, which makes it the widest run of the artist series pieces in this group, and we would rather say that plainly than dress it up. No number is inked anywhere on the print and there is no back photo to check maker marks against, so the run is what we quote and a position in it is not something we will invent. We have two.
No Reprints
Moodmats does not go back and run a sold-out design again. When this one is gone from our shelf and theirs, the only way to get it is from somebody who already has one.
Worth Hanging
A print this limited does not have to earn its keep under a rig. Plenty of these end up on a wall, in a frame, or stacked with the rest of a collection.

Wipe it down with warm water and a little dish soap, then let it air dry flat. That is the whole routine. Do not run it through a washing machine or a dryer, do not scrub the print with an abrasive pad, and do not rest a lit torch or a glowing-hot banger directly on the surface. Use a stand or a puck for anything still at temperature.

Know Before You Buy
Upcycled Means Variation
The rubber is reclaimed scrap, so base color, speckle, and surface texture shift slightly from sheet to sheet. Two mats of the same design will not be photocopies of each other. That is how you know it is the real material and not virgin stock.
Heat Resistant, Not Heatproof
The rubber is self-extinguishing and handles warm gear without complaint. It is not a torch pad. Park anything still glowing on a proper stand or a quartz puck, not on the print.
We Have Not Put a Lamp on This One
The sheet lists it as a standard ink print and there is no blacklight photo of it, so we are not telling you it glows and we are not telling you it does not. If UV matters to your buying decision, message us before you order and we will put a lamp on the mat and tell you what happens.
Clipped Corners Are Not a Die Cut
The outline is a rectangle with the four corners cut off at an angle. It is a cleaner footprint than a die cut piece and a less regular one than a plain rectangle, so the twelve inches is the long side rather than a uniform square measurement. Measure your space if it is tight.
Studio Shot, Not a Table Shot
The only image we have is a clean studio photo on a white background rather than a picture of the mat sitting on a table, and there is no photo of the back. Treat it as an accurate look at the print and not at the exact sheet. The rubber underneath is reclaimed scrap, so the base speckle shifts from mat to mat.
