The Print
A Sea God Built Like a Coat of Arms
The figure is the whole composition and it is dead symmetrical. A broad barrel chested giant stands facing forward, barefoot, his body flat teal and aqua with black hatch marks worked through it to read as fur, everything outlined in black and then re-outlined again in bright orange so the shape lifts off the rubber. His face is small and central: two round eyes, a bushy white moustache and beard fanning out in radiating lines, and a green pointed cannabis leaf sitting on his forehead where a third eye would go. Above that his hair blows outward in long white ropey wave lines that end in two upswept horn points, with a large green cannabis leaf crest over the top and two smaller leaves flanking it.
Everything else is arranged around him like heraldry. Two large blue green seahorses face inward at his shoulders with their tails scrolling down each side. He wears a green leafy kilt over a belt of rounded green lobes. One hand grips a jagged yellow lightning bolt that runs the full height of the mat, the other cups a glowing yellow orb. A rolled blue grey wave scroll sits behind one hip, and the feet at the bottom are big and splayed with every toe outlined separately. A small illegible artist glyph sits down near the left foot, which is the only mark in the artwork.
The print is a screen print with the halftone visible over the black rubber, which is a different animal from the full colour digital work in this catalog and worth knowing before it arrives. The maker lists the design as UV, and reactive ink is called out on our intake sheet as well, but there is no blacklight photograph of this piece anywhere, so nothing on this page shows the lit state and no glow colours are described here. Twelve inches at the widest point, cut to the figure.

Credited by the maker on their own product page for this design. The shaggy sea god giant is his own recurring character rather than anything borrowed, which is worth saying because it is the reason this artwork is his to license out and the reason there is no franchise sitting underneath it. The only mark in the drawing itself is a small illegible glyph near the left foot. Beyond the credit we are not going to build a biography out of a handle, so what we can tell you is the work: symmetrical heraldic layout, black line re-outlined in orange, and tone built entirely out of halftone dots.

Rubber That Already Had a First Life
Moodmats started with scraps from old wetsuits and discarded scuba and surf neoprene, material that was headed straight for a landfill. That became Lava Rubber, and Lava Rubber is what every Moodmat is cut from. The feedstock now comes from wetsuits, gaskets, weatherstripping, seat molds, and other clean scrap that gets collected or donated. More than two tons of it moves through the New Jersey shop every month, gets pressed into sheet stock, then die-cut and screen printed. Keeping that material out of the ground has been the point from day one.
Closed-Cell Neoprene
Closed-cell rubber does not drink up what you spill on it. Water, reclaim, and terp splash sit on the surface instead of soaking in, so a wipe with soapy water puts it back to new.
It Stays Put
The rubber grips whatever it is sitting on and grips whatever you set on top. A rig that would skate across a glass table or a finished desk stops moving the second it lands on a Moodmat.
Tough and Self-Extinguishing
Heat resistant, self-extinguishing, and built out of material that already survived a first life. This is not a printed coaster that curls after a month on the table.

Why It Matters
Runs End. Prints Do Not Come Back.
Moodmats print in runs, and runs end. Once a design is out, it is out. Artist collabs and drop exclusives regularly land in quantities of ten to twenty five pieces, which is why the people who collect these track drops, trade them, and frame the ones they will never put a rig on. If this specific print matters to you, the time to grab it is while it is still on the shelf.
Four Hundred Twenty Is a Large Run, and We Are Going to Say So
The maker’s page puts this design at 420 pieces. That is a big number for this catalog, it is plainly a cannabis joke as much as it is a count, and we are not going to dress it up as scarcity. The honest position is that this is an artist series print with a stated run rather than a short drop. The maker’s page also says the design is numbered, but there is no photograph of the back of this mat, so we have seen no number box and we will not invent a position inside the run. What we can tell you is that Moodmats does not go back and reprint a design once a run is finished, and that we have one on the shelf.
No Reprints
Moodmats does not go back and run a sold-out design again. When this one is gone from our shelf and theirs, the only way to get it is from somebody who already has one.
Worth Hanging
A print this limited does not have to earn its keep under a rig. Plenty of these end up on a wall, in a frame, or stacked with the rest of a collection.

Wipe it down with warm water and a little dish soap, then let it air dry flat. That is the whole routine. Do not run it through a washing machine or a dryer, do not scrub the print with an abrasive pad, and do not rest a lit torch or a glowing-hot banger directly on the surface. Use a stand or a puck for anything still at temperature.

Know Before You Buy
Upcycled Means Variation
The rubber is reclaimed scrap, so base color, speckle, and surface texture shift slightly from sheet to sheet. Two mats of the same design will not be photocopies of each other. That is how you know it is the real material and not virgin stock.
Heat Resistant, Not Heatproof
The rubber is self-extinguishing and handles warm gear without complaint. It is not a torch pad. Park anything still glowing on a proper stand or a quartz puck, not on the print.
UV Is Claimed, and There Is No Photo of It
The maker’s product page lists this design as UV and our own intake sheet marks it reactive, so the badge at the top of this page is not invented. What we cannot do is show you. There is no blacklight photograph of this design, so we name no glow colours and promise nothing about how bright it goes. Reactive is also not glow in the dark: it needs a 365nm or 395nm lamp on it and it will not charge up and shine on its own.
Numbered According to the Maker, Not According to Us
The maker’s page describes this run as numbered, which normally means a hand inked number box on the back. We have no photograph of the back of this mat, so we have not seen one, and rather than quote a figure we cannot check we quote the run of 420 and stop there. If a number box is on the piece it will be on the piece when it reaches you. We just are not going to promise you a specific position in the run.
Die-Cut Means Irregular Edges
The outline follows the crest, the horns, the seahorse tails, the lightning bolt and every splayed toe, so it has real points and notches in it. The listed twelve inches is the widest point rather than a uniform footprint. The bolt tip and the leaf points are the narrowest sections of rubber on the piece, so measure your space if it is tight and set your rig over the chest and body rather than out on a point.
