Recycled Rubber Art Mat

A three-faced figure sits at the center of this one with its eyes shut and a third eye wide open on the forehead. Flowers bloom out of one side of the head, mushrooms out of the other, and six melting eyeballs drift through purple ripples around it. Dr. Dabber commissioned the design, Moodmats printed it on their New Jersey rubber, and at 11.5 inches across it swallows a full rig with room to spare.

Heads up
At 11.5 inches this is one of the bigger mats we carry. It fits a rig, a torch, and a pearl dish without crowding. If you want something with a smaller footprint, look at the 5 inch and 8 inch mats instead.

Ships from Southwestern Michigan, typically 2 to 4 days to most of the US via UPS Ground.

All Seeing Eye Moodmat

Dr. Dabber commissioned the artwork. Moodmats cut and printed it on the same upcycled New Jersey rubber they have been making mats from since 2009. What came out is 11.5 inches of open third eye, floating eyeballs, and warped purple.

The Print

Three Faces, One Open Eye

The center of the mat is a pale blue head rendered like carved stone, calm and symmetrical, eyes closed. Look at the edges of it and you notice there are actually three faces sharing one skull: the forward-facing one, plus a profile turned outward on each side. Above the brow, a single eye is wide open, purple iris aimed straight up at whoever is standing over it. Flowers bloom out of one side of the head, mushrooms sprout from the other, and white smoke curls along the jawline on both sides.

Around that head, six loose eyeballs float through a lavender field that ripples outward in wavy concentric bands, the kind of warped repetition you get on a 70s concert poster. Every eye trails a melting drip behind it. One of them has an infinity symbol where the pupil should be. Cyan sparkles fill the gaps, and DR.DABBER arcs across the top in fat liquid lettering.

It reads exactly like what it is: a psychedelic piece for people who already like their gear a little strange. On a table the whole composition pulls inward toward that open eye, so it frames a rig instead of fighting with it. On a wall it holds up on its own.

A Collaboration

Dr. Dabber x Moodmats

Dr. Dabber brought the artwork, Moodmats brought the rubber. That means Dr. Dabber’s design sits on the exact same upcycled stock, cut and screen printed in the exact same New Jersey shop, as every other mat Moodmats makes. Nothing about the build changed. Only the person holding the pen did.

Made in New Jersey Since 2009

Rubber That Already Had a First Life

Moodmats started with scraps from old wetsuits and discarded scuba and surf neoprene, material that was headed straight for a landfill. That became Lava Rubber, and Lava Rubber is what every Moodmat is cut from. The feedstock now comes from wetsuits, gaskets, weatherstripping, seat molds, and other clean scrap that gets collected or donated. More than two tons of it moves through the New Jersey shop every month, gets pressed into sheet stock, then die-cut and screen printed. Keeping that material out of the ground has been the point from day one.

Closed-Cell Neoprene

Closed-cell rubber does not drink up what you spill on it. Water, reclaim, and terp splash sit on the surface instead of soaking in, so a wipe with soapy water puts it back to new.

It Stays Put

The rubber grips whatever it is sitting on and grips whatever you set on top. A rig that would skate across a glass table or a finished desk stops moving the second it lands on a Moodmat.

Tough and Self-Extinguishing

Heat resistant, self-extinguishing, and built out of material that already survived a first life. This is not a printed coaster that curls after a month on the table.

Where People Actually Put These

It Does Not Have to Hold a Rig

A Moodmat protects a surface and grips what sits on it. Whether that thing is a banger, a camera, or nothing at all is up to you. They are called Moodmats for a reason. Pick the one that matches how you feel and put it wherever it belongs.

Rig and Glass Pad

The job it was built for. Keeps glass off hard surfaces and keeps hard surfaces off your glass.

Display Surface

Figures, models, controllers, dice, cameras, watches. Anything worth setting on something intentional.

Wall Art

Plenty of these never touch a table. Hang it, frame it, or pin it behind the setup and let the print do the work.

Desk and Everyday

Trivet for hot pans, landing spot for keys, pad under a pet bowl, cushion on a camp table.

The Details

Specs and Care

Wipe it down with warm water and a little dish soap, then let it air dry flat. That is the whole routine. Do not run it through a washing machine or a dryer, do not scrub the print with an abrasive pad, and do not rest a lit torch or a glowing-hot banger directly on the surface. Use a stand or a puck for anything still at temperature.

Straight Talk

Know Before You Buy

01

Upcycled Means Variation

The rubber is reclaimed scrap, so base color, speckle, and surface texture shift slightly from sheet to sheet. Two mats of the same design will not be photocopies of each other. That is how you know it is the real material and not virgin stock.

02

Heat Resistant, Not Heatproof

The rubber is self-extinguishing and handles warm gear without complaint. It is not a torch pad. Park anything still glowing on a proper stand or a quartz puck, not on the print.

03

The 11.5 Inches Is Approximate

These get cut from reclaimed sheet stock, so the diameter lands close to 11.5 inches rather than exactly on it. If you are fitting this to a specific tray or shelf with no margin, measure your space first and leave yourself a little room.
