Wym Designs | Switch GO Insert

Carved from 99.99% pure Grade 1 titanium bar, one at a time, by Kyle Wym in a one-person shop in the USA. It heats fast, drops straight into your Switch GO, and fixes two things about the stock bucket: the airflow holes are opened up and the inside corners are rounded. Pure titanium, no alloying elements, no wasted motion.

Commercially Pure Titanium
Grade 1 is the purest titanium you can machine, with none of the aluminum or vanadium found in Grade 5 alloy. It heats up fast and gets to temperature quickly. Run it in the 400 to 475F range and it does exactly what you ask of it.

Two Fixes Over Stock
Kyle opened up the airflow holes because the stock bucket restricts more than it needs to. He also rounded the inside corners, the same way he cuts his Switch 2 buckets, so there is no sharp corner trapping concentrate when you scoop or clean.

The Material

Why Grade 1 Titanium

Most titanium parts in this space are Grade 5, which is an alloy. Grade 1 is commercially pure titanium, and that difference is the whole point of this bucket.

99.99% Pure, No Alloy
Grade 5 titanium is Ti-6Al-4V, meaning roughly six percent aluminum and four percent vanadium mixed in for strength. Grade 1 skips all of that. It is commercially pure titanium bar, nothing added, and that is what Kyle cuts these from.

Heats Up Fast
Titanium comes up to temperature quickly, and this bucket is no exception. You are not standing around waiting on it. Load it, run it in the recommended range, and it responds. Kyle’s own words: it works just like you want.

Will Not Crack on You
This is the practical argument for titanium over quartz or sapphire. Drop a ceramic or sapphire insert and you are shopping for a new one. Titanium takes the hit. If you are hard on your gear or travel with it, this is the insert that survives.

The Machining

What Kyle Changed

This is not a stock bucket in a different material. Two deliberate changes came out of actually running the device.

Opened-Up Airflow
The airflow holes are cut a little larger than the stock bucket’s. Kyle’s read is that the stock holes are an unnecessary restriction point, so he removed the restriction. Less fighting the draw, more of what you loaded actually moving.

Rounded Inside Corners
The inside corners are rounded, the same way he cuts the Switch 2 buckets. A sharp inside corner is where concentrate hides and where your swab cannot reach. Rounding it means you scoop cleaner and clean faster.

Cut One at a Time
Carved from solid titanium bar stock on a lathe, individually, not stamped or cast in a batch of ten thousand. That is why the tolerances are right and why the corners are where he wants them instead of where a mold left them.

Recommended Temps

Titanium moves heat fast, so the window matters more than it does on quartz. Kyle runs these in a specific range and so should you.

Recommended Range
400 to 475F
Straight from the maker. Start at the low end for flavor-forward material and work up if you want more vapor. This window is where the bucket was designed to live.

Why the Window
Ti Runs Hot, Fast
Because titanium heats quickly and holds it, pushing well past this range is where you start cooking off terpenes and where some people begin to notice a metallic edge. Stay in the window and you will not have that problem.

Wym Designs is Kyle Wym, working alone. He designs, cuts, and finishes every part himself: titanium buckets for the Switch 2 and Switch GO, and the Piston joystick caps. Made to order, cut one at a time, in the USA.

We carry his work because it is the kind of thing we like: a person who runs the device, found two things that annoyed him about the stock part, and went and fixed them on a lathe. No committee, no tooling budget, no focus group. Just a better bucket.

Heads Up
Aftermarket, Not Dr. Dabber
This is an independent aftermarket part made by Wym Designs. It is not made, endorsed, or sold by Dr. Dabber, and the device name is here for fitment only. It fits the Switch GO. It will not fit the Switch 2, which takes a different bucket.

Titanium Is Not Quartz
Plenty of people run titanium and taste nothing but their concentrate. Some people pick up a mild metallic character, usually at higher temperatures. That is why the 400 to 475F window exists. If flavor purity is your only metric, the sapphire or quartz insert is the honest recommendation.

Each One Is Cut Individually
These come off a lathe one at a time, not out of a mold. Faint tool marks and small cosmetic differences between units are normal and are evidence of how it was made. They have no effect on fit or performance.
