Dr. Dabber Ghost² | Full Overview
The Pen That Started Everything, Rebuilt.
In 2013, Dr. Dabber released the original Ghost, one of the very first wax pens designed specifically for concentrates. It changed what people expected from a portable dab device. Over a decade of production, customer feedback, and engineering iteration later, the Ghost² is the answer to every limitation the original ever had. This is not a cosmetic refresh. The heating chamber, vapor path, temperature system, and heating modes have all been rebuilt from the ground up.
We carry the Ghost² as an authorized Dr. Dabber dealer, which means your unit ships with the full 1-year manufacturer warranty on the battery, charger, and all electrical components. If you ever need support, Dr. Dabber’s team is responsive and we’re here to help you navigate it.
The Technology Inside
Four engineering decisions that separate the Ghost² from every other pen in its price range.
Heating Control
Three Modes. Three Different Sessions.
Most pens heat up, hold, and stop. The Ghost² gives you control over the shape of the heat curve throughout the entire hit. Selectable in seconds. Remembered between power cycles.
Once the Ghost² reaches your set temperature, it begins slowly decreasing. This mirrors the thermal decay of a real quartz banger after a torch, where the highest terpene expression happens at the start of the hit and the session naturally finishes cooler. You get the full flavor peak upfront with a clean, comfortable finish. This is the default mode for a reason. Best for live resin, rosin, and any high-terpene extract.
Ascent inverts the curve. Load the eChamber first, then press go. The temperature climbs gradually from your setpoint rather than maintaining it, letting concentrate melt and vaporize progressively rather than all at once. This is the electronic version of a cold-start dab. It’s more forgiving for larger loads and excellent for maximizing terpene recovery before getting into higher-temp vapor production. Great for fresh-pressed rosin and live badder.
Steady mode holds your exact set temperature from start to finish, adjusting power delivery in real time to maintain it regardless of load size or draw speed. This is how most pens work by default, but the Ghost² actually maintains it rather than just targeting it. Use Steady when you want clinical repeatability. Same temp, same result, every session. Good for dialing in new concentrates or for users who prefer a predictable, no-surprise session.
Click once to see current temp. Click again within 3 seconds to change it. LED pulses the new color to confirm. Your last selection is saved when you power off.
How to Use Your Ghost²
From unboxing to first hit. Load small at first, around half a pea-size, until you’ve dialed in your preferred temperature and mode.
Seat the inner airflow regulator tube fully so it extends deep into the chamber before loading. A centered, pea-size dab on the eChamber floor gives the best results. Wall-loading or shallow airway placement can cause uneven vaporization and thin hits.
eChamber and Accessories
The Replaceable Parts You Should Know About
The Ghost² is designed around the eChamber as a consumable component. Understanding when and how to replace it keeps flavor and performance where they should be.
Replace when the chamber looks visually dark or crusted, the dish is cracked or damaged, you’re tasting burnt flavor even after a thorough clean, you’re seeing leakage, or vapor production has dropped significantly. After installing a new eChamber, run the recalibration procedure before first use.
The Ghost² In Every Setup
The Ghost² shows up in multiple Dab Hut bundles because it’s the right portable for a lot of different situations.
Battery and Charging
Power That Keeps Up
Tap the button 4 times while powered on to check battery level. Green means 70% or higher. Yellow means 30 to 70%. Red means 30% or lower. The LED blinks white 3 times before a session to warn you that a charge is needed.
The Ghost² supports pass-through charging, meaning you can run a session while plugged in. Plug into any USB-C port or use an AC adapter for faster results. Do not force the cable connector into the port. The LED pulses upward while charging and holds steady white when full. Only use the official cable included with the unit.
The Ghost² battery system includes over-voltage, over-current, under-voltage, over-temperature, short-circuit, and reverse-polarity protection built into the unit, charger, and cell. It’s fully protected. Use the included charger and don’t leave it plugged in indefinitely and the battery will serve you well.
Keeping Your Ghost² Running
Flavor preservation and eChamber longevity both come down to cleaning habits. None of these steps are complicated.
Do not dry-burn the eChamber. There should always be a small amount of oil in the chamber during use. Do not soak eChambers in ISO or any liquid. Make sure they are completely dry before use. Do not force the airflow regulator tube during assembly.

What You Get With It
The glass mouthpiece upgrade, replacement eChambers, and the Dr. Dabber Drop loading tool are all sold separately. The Recon Loadout bundle includes the Drop.
You’re Covered.
Red LED blinks 3 times when heating: device is too hot, let it cool before the next session. Yellow LED blinks 3 times: eChamber is missing, not seated properly, or has failed. Clean connection points with a ISO-dipped swab, seat the eChamber finger-tight, and retry. Pink LED blinks 3 times: short circuit or PCB fault. Contact Dr. Dabber support. Slight buzzing or ticking noise during heating and charging is normal for this unit.
Only reset if the unit is in a fault state. While the unit is OFF, click the button 8 times and hold on the 8th click until the LED flashes. A successful reset shows Red, then Green, then Blue. This restores all default settings.
Required after installing a new eChamber. Turn the unit OFF and unplug it for 15 minutes. Ensure both the unit and new eChamber are at room temperature. While OFF, click the button 4 times and hold on the 4th press until the LED blinks. Green blinks 3 times means success. Red blinks 3 times means try again. Unclean connection points or a temperature difference between the unit and eChamber are the most common causes of a failed calibration.

Dr. Dabber Ghost² FAQ
The questions we get most before and after the sale, answered straight.
Should I buy the Ghost 2 or the Switch 2? What’s the actual difference?
They’re built for different situations, not competing directly. The Switch² is a desktop eRig: bigger and more powerful, larger 20mm quartz insert, patented IR sensor for real-time temperature verification at the insert surface, and a full app-controlled session experience. It’s what you use at home base when session quality is the priority and mobility isn’t. The Ghost² is portable: battery-powered, compact enough to carry, and optimized for use anywhere. It uses a ceramic heated atomizer in a form factor that goes where the Switch² can’t. If you’re choosing between them as a single device, ask yourself where you dab. Mostly at home at a desk or couch? Switch². Out, traveling, or in situations where a desktop rig isn’t practical? Ghost². If your budget allows, the Tactical Mobile Loadout bundles both — which is how most serious users end up running it.
How does the Ghost 2 compare to other portable wax pens and eRigs?
Most portable wax pens use a resistive coil atomizer: so does the Ghost 2. What’s different is the unique heating profiles that the Switch 2 has. Descent, Ascent and Steady. They are always flavor forward and meant to satisfy. If you’re upgrading from a coil pen, the difference in flavor and consistency is immediately obvious.
What temperature should I use on the Ghost 2 for live rosin or live resin?
For live rosin, live resin, and any high-terpene solventless extract, start at the lower preset range — the equivalent of the Purple (400°F) or Blue (440°F) settings. These temperatures protect the terpene profile and deliver the flavor-forward, lighter-vapor experience that premium solventless extracts are built for. Ascent Mode (if available in app) is the better choice for rosin specifically, since the gradual temperature climb lets the material melt and vaporize progressively rather than hitting a fully hot surface. For wax, shatter, or crumble where extraction efficiency matters more than flavor precision, step up to Cyan or Orange range (480–500°F) in Descent or Steady Mode. The general rule: if you paid a premium for the extract, run it at lower temps. The terpenes you paid for vaporize before the cannabinoids do, and high heat burns past them.
How long does the Ghost 2 battery last and how do I get more sessions out of a charge?
Battery life varies with temperature setting, hold time, and LED brightness — the same variables that affect the Switch². Higher temperatures pull more power per cycle; longer hold times extend the draw on the battery. To maximize sessions per charge: run lower preset temps when flavor quality matters more than maximum extraction, use the app to shorten hold times to what you actually need rather than leaving it at the maximum, and turn down LED brightness if the app supports it. The more disciplined you are about only running the heat cycle as long as you need, the more sessions you’ll get. The battery readout tells you where you are — check it before a session rather than discovering you’re low mid-dab.
How do I load concentrates into the Ghost 2 without making a mess?
The most common loading mistake is using too much material. A rice-grain amount — smaller than you think — is the right starting point for a portable. Overloading causes concentrate to overflow the insert, get into the vapor pathway, and create a maintenance problem that compounds over time. For stable concentrates like shatter, wax, or crumble: use a cold dab tool to place the material directly in the center of the insert, then replace the carb cap before starting the heat cycle. For stickier extracts like live rosin or sauce: a heated loading tool (like the Dr. Dabber Drop) makes placement cleaner — hover the tip above the insert and let the concentrate drop in rather than scraping it off the tool. The Drop ships with the Switch² and is also sold separately. It’s worth having if you run a lot of solventless.
Can I connect the Ghost 2 app on iPhone, or is it Android only?
No, you cannot. There is not currently a way to connect the device to the app like with the Switch 2.
How often do I need to clean the Ghost 2, and what’s the fastest way to do it?
Swab the insert after every session while it’s still warm — dry cotton swab first, then one dipped in 91%+ ISO. This is the single habit that keeps a Ghost² running well. Five seconds of maintenance after each dab prevents the kind of reclaim buildup that requires a full soak-out to fix. For the glass attachment, ISO rinse as needed — how often depends on how frequently you use it and whether you let rinse water fully dry before reassembling. The vapor pathway and chamber walls need attention during regular deep cleans, not after every session. One thing to avoid: ISO on the exterior body. It can damage the finish. Use a damp cloth with a small amount of dish soap on the outside only, keeping moisture away from any electrical connections or the charging port.
Is a portable eRig like the Ghost 2 as good as a desktop rig for concentrate quality?
Honest answer: a premium desktop setup — whether that’s the Switch² with its IR-verified insert temperature, or a high-end torch-and-banger rig dialed in perfectly — has a big edge in raw session quality. The insert surface area is larger, the thermal mass is greater, and desktop units can sustain longer, more consistent heat cycles. What the Ghost² closes most of the gap on is the quality of the flavor. Because it doesn’t overheat your dabs, the flavor cleanliness is significantly better than coil-based portables and any other ceramic-embedded coil platform. For concentrate quality on the move, the Ghost² is at the top of what portable hardware currently delivers. If you’re the kind of person who runs premium solventless and cares deeply about flavor, you’ll notice the difference compared to a desktop — but you’ll also notice how much better the Ghost² is than anything you’ve used in the portable category before.
Does the Ghost 2 work with the same inserts as the Switch 2?
No — the inserts are not cross-compatible. The Switch² uses a 20mm insert sized for its larger desktop heating chamber. The Ghost² is not compatible with Switch 2 inserts, or others currently. The accessories page on our site and the compatible accessories section above this FAQ list what we carry for the Ghost² specifically. If you’re unsure about anything, reach out before ordering — we’d rather answer the question upfront than have you deal with a return.

Verified BuyerPicked it up as a lunch break dab. Simple to use and keep clean. Added a 3mm terp pearl, seems to help vapor production. Only downside is the battery life but it’s a fast charger. Would like a longer sesh time but another double click is not hard. A week in, it’s filling the niche of a pocketable walking around dab pen.
