The Design

Stainless Inside and Out

Standard barrel coils leave the heating element exposed on the inner face. That works for stationary use, but wireless ball vapes need the heater to slide in and out every session. Exposed coil wire means snags, catches, and potential damage over time.

The Armored Coil solves it by encasing the heating element inside a machined metal barrel. This version pairs SS304 heating coils with an SS316 outer barrel, giving you an all-stainless build with a smooth inner diameter that your heater glides in and out of cleanly. Same fit, same finish, same operation as the brass version. Different material, different look.

Material Choice
SS316 Stainless
Marine-grade stainless steel is corrosion resistant, food safe, and free of the copper and zinc that make up brass. Some users prefer it for that reason alone, even though there is no scientific study that says one performs better than the other. In practice, this is an aesthetic and material preference choice.

Finish
Raw and Brushed
Terp Chasers Club ships these unpolished. The duller, brushed look is part of the appeal for some, and if you want it gleaming you can polish it yourself with the right compound and a buffing wheel. We are not offering a polishing service at this time.

Standard 25mm Armored Coil form factor with the Crossing 5-pin XLR pinout. Drops into our docks, our 25mm auto spinner, and any wired Crossing PID setup.

Confirmed Fit
Simple Machined Aluminum Dock. Bigger Wireless Dock Station. 25mm Auto Spinner. Crossing wired PIDs. Future Terp Chasers Club docks if we add them to the lineup.

Will Not Fit
The Crossing Wireless Docking Station. The barrel dimensions and pinout do not match. If your setup centers on that dock, this is not the coil for you.

Operating Temps
Standard Armored Range
Operating temps run a touch higher than non-armored coils since you are heating the metal jacket as well as the ball. If you have run any other armored coil, expect the same temperature range here. Setpoint stability is solid once it soaks in.

SS316 carries a satisfying weight that you notice the moment you pick it up. The fit and finish is dialed, the inner bore is smooth, and the way ball vape heads slide in and out is the same easy motion you get on the brass version.

Unpolished by Design
These ship raw from Terp Chasers Club with a duller, brushed look. That is the intended finish, not a defect. If you want a mirror polish, that is a project you take on yourself. We do not offer a polishing service.

No Brass vs Stainless Performance Claim
There are no scientific studies showing one material outperforms the other in this application. Some users prefer SS316 because it does not contain the same alloying elements as brass. In the end, this coil is about appearance and material preference more than measurable performance gain.

Crossing Wireless Dock Not Compatible
This will not fit the Crossing Wireless Docking Station. If that is your daily driver, stick with a coil designed for it. This one is built around our Simple Machined Aluminum Dock, the Bigger Wireless Dock Station, and the 25mm auto spinner.

Wired PID Required
This is a 200W wired coil with the standard Crossing 5-pin XLR pinout. You need a Crossing-compatible wired PID to run it. The coil itself does not include a controller, heater, or dock.
