The Stainless Steel Wireless One-Hit Wonder, often called the SS WOHW (pronounced “wow”), is a desktop dry herb ball vape made by Crossing Technology. It was developed in partnership with The Dab Hut, and it represents one of the most accessible entry points into the world of high-performance ball vaporization.

The name says it all. This device is designed to fully extract a bowl of dry herb in a single hit. One pull. Done. That is the kind of power ball vapes bring to the table, and the WOHW does it without a cord attached to the heater during use.

The “wireless” part is important to understand up front. The heater itself is cordless. It sits in a docking station connected to a PID controller and coil, where it absorbs heat. When you are ready to use it, you lift the heater off the dock, place it on your bowl, and inhale. No wire dragging across your desk. No cable tangling with your glass. Just pick it up, hit it, and put it back.

A ball vape is a type of desktop dry herb vaporizer that uses hundreds of small, heat-resistant balls (typically lab-grown ruby, also known as corundum) packed inside a metal chamber to store and transfer heat. When you inhale through the device, air passes over and between these superheated balls. That air reaches your dry herb at a precise, consistent temperature and vaporizes it almost instantly.

This is fundamentally different from how most portable vaporizers work. Portable devices like the Mighty, Arizer Solo, or a Lobo heat your herb through conduction or convection at lower power levels constrained by battery size. The result is a session that can take several minutes and multiple draws to finish a bowl.

A ball vape does the same job in seconds. The thermal mass of hundreds of ruby balls means there is a massive reservoir of stored heat ready to deploy the moment you start drawing air through the system. The extraction is fast, thorough, and powerful. Many users describe the experience as being closer to smoking from a bong than using a vaporizer, but without the combustion, tar, or harshness that comes with burning plant material. Here at The Dab Hut, we like to call it dabbing flower. The taste, vapor profile, and overall feeling is far more like a dab than combusting flower.

Think of it this way: instead of using a lighter to heat your bowl, you use the ball vape heater, and it does not light your flower on fire.

The one thing not included in any bundle is a glass water piece. You need one to use the WOHW. You can use it dry, but having some type of cooling is best. We recommend pieces with 18mm female joints and an overall height of about 9 inches or under. Taller pieces work fine but can be harder to clear for some users. If you prefer dry pieces or J-hooks, those work too. Just start with lower temps.
